Kazuki Nakajima was sporting a new Barcelona Football Club shirt today. Only this was a shirt with a difference: it has his name on the back, having been given to him by Spanish F1 broadcaster TV3. “I am a big fan of the team,” says Kazuki, “so this is pretty cool, isn’t it?” A trip to the Nou Camp beckons.
Happy birthday to Williams F1’s Joe Bruce, who works in the team’s Commercial Alliances department. Joe is at Fuji this weekend following up some business leads, but he says he’ll spare a couple of hours this evening to do some karaoke. After Jo and Jennie’s on-stage performances last night, you’ve got a lot to live up to Joe…
GP2 front-runner Sebastian Buemi drove the Medical Car during today’s Japanese Grand Prix. He was subbing for regular driver Jacques Tropenat, who has had to remain in Europe, and luckily the race passed without incident. The same cannot be said of his practice laps on Thursday, when he managed to spin the C63 AMG Estate. Doh!
Better weather this year has allowed Formula One personnel to see Mount Fuji on several occasions. However, none will get a better view than Sebastian Vettel and Alex Wurz, who are going to climb the mountain this evening with a view to being at the summit for sunrise. Be safe, guys, and remember to wear some thermal undies!
